ii. | 4 – 9|

Solution:
i. |15 – 2| = |13| = 13
ii. |4 – 9| = |-5| = 5
iii. |7| x |- 4| = 7 x 4 = 28

Solve.
Solution:
i. |3x – 5| = 1
∴ 3x – 5 = 1 or 3x – 5 = -1
∴ 3x = 1 + 5 or 3x = -1 + 5
∴ 3x = 6 or 3x = 4
ii. |7 – 2x| = 5
∴ 7 – 2x = 5 or 7 – 2x = -5
∴ 7 – 5 = 2x or 7 + 5 = 2x
∴ 2x = 2 or 2x = 12
∴ x =
∴ x = 1 or x = 6
∴ 8 – x = 10 or 8 – x = -10 .. [Multiplying both the sides by 2]
∴ 8 – 10 = x or 8 + 10 = x
∴ x = -2 or x = 18
